July "Food for Thought" Gathering...

After all the interruptions through COVID19 it was great to re-assemble together in the first of our planned "Food for Thought" catch-up's.

After a brief update on everything going on at our Club, we were privileged to have Blues Chairman Don Mackinnon and Auckland Rugby Union Head of Participation Simon Devoy address the group about everything going on with rugby at the professional and provincial levels.   This was followed by some excellent Q&A and we were all left with multiple areas of opportunity for our Club in the years ahead.

As we have outlined in the past, the formation of the Marist Alumni is a way to connect all current and former players, coaches, members, and supporters of our Club.  It is the opportunity to support each other, support the Club, and support rugby.  We want this to become a well-organised, coherant group that leverages off our connections for the betterment of our members.

We are only in the formation stages but built correctly, this will become a vibrant group and a key stakeholder in our Club.  With over 100 years of history it is critical we unite for the long-term prosperity of each other, and our Club.  The Alumni will be something we foster over the coming years and I urge every one of us to commit it.  The upside is HUGE.

Watch for upcoming events and details of the next "Food for Thought" gathering.
